Founder: Dan Shalev

Dan Shalev (originally Dan Roberts) combines two professional backgrounds obtained over 20 years of consulting and financial services experience to help clients identify, design and implement solutions to enhance risk and governance capabilities, especially through the use of data. Dan’s background includes extensive experience as a risk practitioner which enables him to understand risk and control framework problems from a practitioner’s perspective. A second career path followed between roles as a practitioner has led Dan to become an experienced Information Architect and Data Modeler with significant expertise in structured analysis in general.

Dan’s two backgrounds have brought him to his professional passion: Helping clients create and enhance data-enabled risk and governance decision-making capabilities. (These two perspectives also provide him with a unique control framework orientation to advising clients on data governance).

Dan started his career training as an auditor with KPMG in London and qualified as a UK Chartered Accountant.  His industry experience started in the OTC Derivatives business addressing operational and market risk challenges. He has since worked in, and helped clients solve problems, across retail, wholesale banking and capital markets businesses across risk types including Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Technology GRC / Information Risk.

Dan was recently interviewed for the YouTube Channel Job Search TV as part of a series to help people starting their careers or in career transition understand what it is like to work in different fields. Dan answered questions about the nature of the GRC domain, Information Architecture and Data Governance and how he came to specialize in solving the problems at the intersection of all three:
